The second product we have here is a media extender. It's designed to sit in a 3.5" drive bay, and comes either in the appalling beige we have here, or a rather nicer jet black.
The extender sports headphone and mic jacks, firewire, USB 2.0 and optical and coaxial digital audio.
Working the front extender is as simple as plugging these cords into your PC's back panel. The cable on the right is used to connect the digital audio to the pinout on your soundcard or motherboard.
What more is there to say? It's simple, and it works, providing you have the right header pins for the digital audio. A product like this lives or dies by its price, and thankfully, this comes in at $15, which is expensive for a media extender, but a good price for one that includes digital audio.
